Hot vs. Cold Stripping
When it comes to removing paint chemically from a metal surface, there are two main types; hot and cold stripping. These two processes come with their own sets of benefits;
Hot Stripping involves the use of a heated chemical containing low volatility solvents, and an accelerator to deal with the paint. The main benefits of hot stripping are that it can easily be tailored to fit your schedule, and that the chemicals themselves entail reduced health and safety risks. Due to the low-volatility components, hot strip tanks can last for several years with replenishment.
Cold Stripping involves the use of strong volatile solvents and accelerators to lift and release the paint. These solutions do not require heating or external pieces of machinery such as a filter press, and are easy to maintain. Cold strippers remain the quickest way to strip paint from metal.

HOT STRIPPER
AL-Strip AHT (Hot Immersion)
PROFESSIONAL USE ONLY (Requires oil jacket heated stainless steel tank)
AL-Strip AHT is a heated benzyl alcohol based paint stripper at approx (75 deg C) and has been specifically designed as a low capital investment solution for small to medium operations.
By composition, it contains no methylene chloride (DCM).
Description
AL-Strip AHT is an alkaline stripping medium designed to remove paints, lacquers and powder coatings
from a range of base metals including steel, aluminium and magnesium. It will not remove coatings such
as nickel or chrome plating finishes.
Note: AL-Strip EC is not suitable for magnesium wheels.
Supplied in 25 L Drums, 200 L Drums, and 1000 L IBCs
AL-Strip W (Hot Immersion)
PROFESSIONAL USE ONLY
The tried and tested powerhouse.
With over 20 years experience in the industry, AL-Strip W is the benzyl alcohol based hot strip workhorse that has served many major wheel refurbishers throughout the UK.
Free from methylene chloride, AL-Strip W is recommended for high throughput work over 100 wheels per week per tank.
Maintenance for an AL-Strip W system is minimal and is carried out through the use of a filter press which will keep your chemical in check.
With a dedicated range of replenishment chemicals, an AL-Strip W tank can run indefinitely.

The fastest, most cost-effective way to strip wheels.
The original and arguably the quickest way to strip wheels, EFX is a solvent based cold stripper capable of stripping the vast majority of wheels in as little as two hours.
Containing methylene chloride and accelerators, EFX has been specifically formulated to strip ALLOY wheels.
Similar to AL-Strip EC, the paint is lifted from the surface of the metal, therefore requiring minimal extra input from the user, aside from adequate ventilation, and manual scoop filtration.
Note: The European Solvent Emissions Directive limits the use of Methylene Chloride-based chemicals to 1 tonne per year.

Metstrip SV3405 is a high speed acid based solvent brush application paint remover designed to remove quickly and cleanly most industrial paint finishes, lacquers and varnishes.
